IN SUMMARY

THE FUNDAMENTAL STEPS OF OUR HISTORY

1956
It’s the year in which Società Gas Rimini was born, the first local company dedicated to the management and distribution of gas for heating and domestic use.
1959
The distribution network starts to develop with the supply of gas in the city of Rimini.
1970
Gas distribution switches from propane air to methane thanks to the connection to the Snam national pipeline.
Further concessions have been bought and the distribution network develops in the City of Rimini and in many other places in Romagna and Marche.
1990
The Company starts to think internationally: Slovenia presents an interesting challenge.
SGR Group enters for the first time in the installation and maintenance sector of the heating systems.
1998
The system ISO 9001 has been adopted for the quality management system certification.
1999
Utilia Spa is created, an IT company with a strong competence in the Energy and Utilities sector.
SGR Group’s quality management system is certified by DNV GL.
2001
SGR Group and the Convention Centre new headquarter is opened.
2003
The activities of sales and distribution have been divided in two different companies.
2005
SGR Group opens to the foreign market beginning gas distribution and sale in Bulgaria.
2007
SGR Services enters the free market selling electricity.
2008
SGR Group’s management board adopts Ethical Code and Organization Management and Control Model in accordance to D. lgs n. 231/01.
2009
SGR Group celebrates 50 years since the first methane cubic metre has been provided.
2010
Technoterm Bulgaria becomes part of SGR Group.
2012
The first SGR Group’s Sustainability Budget has been approved.
Società Gas Rimini Group and SGR Reti (network) decide to implement a Security and Environmental Integrated Management System.
2014
Sherden Energia has been created, a service that sells gas and electricity to the Sardinia region.
An international Contest of Ideas has taken place this year , designing a new business area.
2015
SGR Group wins a contract to become the Industrial Partner of San Giorgio Energie.
Weedoo Energy was also created this year.
2016
SGR Group acquires a holding of SOLGAS, a gas management and selling service in the area of Fermo.
Weedoo acquires the majority of SMG, an active company in the free gas market in the north of Milan.
Also this year there was the opening of Sherden Energia Network in basin 24 in Sardinia.
SGR Group has acquired the majority of Astea Energia, a selling company that supplies electricity, gas and other energy products to more than 65.000 clients in the provinces of Ancona and Macerata.
2017
SGR Group wins the prize Sustainability in the 5’ Edition of TOP UTILITY.
Welfare Index PMI. SGR Group has been awarded as the Best Italian Company in the Trade and Services category.
2003
The activities of sales and distribution have been divided in two different companies.
2019
Gruppo SGR entra nel settore del biometano con la nuova società SGR Biomethane.
